On the 2nd of November this Rolex is going to hold the ‘America Dances! Celebrating our Sparkling Heritage – Broadway, TV and Film’ event, at the New York City Center. This event celebrates the career transitions of the multifaceted dancers who made significant contributions to the world of Broadway, television and cinema like the incredibly talented Patrick Swayze. At this event Rolex was going to present the Dance Award to Patrick Swayze for his incredible contribution to the entertainment industry as well as the culture of the world. A thorough gentleman and completely devoted to perfecting his talent, Patrick Swayze constantly pushed his limits and brought about magnificent performances that had the world stunned.
Born in Houston in Texas in the year 1952, Patrick Swayze was a remarkably talented man who danced his way to success. Commencing his career as a professional dancer with the Disney on Parade, Patrick Swayze worked his way up to the top through utter determination and the willingness to do all that he can. A three-time Golden Globe nominee, an actor, dancer, singer and songwriter is celebrated all over for his stunning appearances in movies like Ghost, Dirty Dancing and a TV series called North and South. During 1970’s he moved to New York to study dancing professionally with Harkness Ballet Company before leading the star cast of the theatrical play ‘Grease’ as Danny Zuko. 
From MASH on the television to Ghost in films, Patrick Swayze made a remarkable impact in all the spheres of entertainment. Although it was the movie Dirty Dancing and its sequel that put Patrick Swayze on the world map. Playing the part of a dance instructor with great élan, Patrick Swayze had made his way in to the hearts of millions of fans all over the world.
On the 2nd of November this year, Rolex was going to present the Dance Award to Patrick Swayze and honor his contribution to the world of entertainment at the New York City Center. One of a kind, Patrick Swayze was welcome contrast to the movie world. a devoted husband for many years now, Patrick Swayze ensured that he stays away from the unnecessary public view. In January 2008, Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and battled it for twenty months straight without faltering. However the disease took a massive toll on this incredible talent and Monday last, he succumbed to his illness leaving behind a legacy so great only ballads of greatness sung over ages could suffice.
Rolex is proud to be able to remember and honor a man like Patrick Swayze who through determined action showed the world that nothing was impossible, implausible or not attainable. He will continue live on through his performances, his songs and in the incredible movements of dance.
